JLab Launches Epic Lab Edition Earbuds with Knowles Preferred Listening Response Curve
JLab, known for its affordable yet high-quality audio products, has stepped up its game with the introduction of the Epic Lab Edition wireless earphones. These earbuds mark a significant milestone as they are the first to feature the Knowles Preferred Listening Response Curve, a tuning developed to cater to consumers' preferences in sound quality.
Win Cramer, CEO of JLab, expressed his excitement about the launch, stating, "For the Epic Lab Edition, I tasked our engineering team with creating something that brought exceptional sound quality to market and still offered an incredible value compared to similarly priced earbuds."
The Knowles response curve, derived from extensive analysis of Billboard Hot 100 tunes and blind listening tests, revealed that most listeners preferred a boost in treble frequencies. To achieve this desired sound profile, JLab opted for a dual-driver configuration in each earbud. A Knowles balanced armature driver handles the higher frequencies, while a 10-mm dynamic driver delivers rich bass and low frequencies.
These earphones also come equipped with Bluetooth LE Audio technology, ensuring enhanced wireless connectivity. The inclusion of the new L3C audio codec promises improved sound quality, and support for LDAC and AAC codecs enables high-resolution streaming for both Android and iOS users. Additionally, features like Dolby Atmos, Tempest 3D AudioTech, and Windows Sonic enhance the overall listening experience.
Smart active noise cancellation adjusts automatically based on the surrounding environment, providing an immersive listening experience even in noisy settings. A dedicated mobile app allows users to fine-tune the audio with a 10-band EQ, control playback, and customize settings according to their preferences.
With a battery life of up to 9 hours per charge with ANC on (or 13 hours with ANC off), the Epic Lab Edition earbuds ensure extended listening sessions without interruption. The charging case extends the total battery life to over 56 hours with ANC or 36 hours without ANC, and wireless charging support adds to the convenience.
The Epic Lab Edition earphones are now available for purchase at $199.99, offering a premium audio experience in a sleek and stylish package.
