New ASUS Zenfone 11, featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, seen on Google Play Console

ASUS might be gearing up to launch the new Zenfone 11 later this year, and the buzz is all about its use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The smartphone made an appearance on the Google Play Console database, marking the first time we've caught sight of a phone equipped with the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.

Last June, ASUS introduced the Zenfone 10 series, sparking rumors that it could be the end of the line for the series. However, ASUS quickly put those rumors to rest, stating that they're not discontinuing the Zenfone lineup. Now, 91mobiles has discovered the Zenfone 11 on the Google Play Console, confirming that a successor is indeed in the works and will likely hit the market later this year.

Details from the Google Play Console listing shed light on the Zenfone 11. The phone's name is confirmed, and it comes with some essential features. The ASUS Zenfone 11 is seen with an octa-core Qualcomm chipset coupled with an Adreno 830 GPU. This chipset is believed to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, expected to be Qualcomm's next flagship. It's a bit surprising because most people anticipated the next Zenfone to carry the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This early sighting suggests that the Zenfone 11 might make its debut towards the end of the year, following the official announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The Google Play listing also mentions the Zenfone 11 having 16GB of RAM and running on Android 14. In terms of design, there's a punch-hole display with the power key and volume buttons located on the right side.

Since ASUS released the Zenfone 10 in the middle of last year, it would make sense for them to unveil a new model around the same time this year. However, there's no official word on a new Zenfone, and ASUS seems to be putting more emphasis on its ROG Phone lineup, leading some to speculate about the future of the Zenfone series.

We're anticipating more details about the Zenfone 11 soon. For now, let's revisit the specifications of the Zenfone 10. It boasts a 5.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, HDR10+, and a 144Hz refresh rate. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 paired with an Adreno 740 GPU, the phone comes in three variants with different combinations of RAM and storage. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with gimbal stabilization 2.0 and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. For selfies, there's a 32MP RGBW front camera. Running on Android 13, the Zenfone 10 is equipped with a 4,300mAh battery supporting 30W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
